KOMENDA COLLEGE OF EDUCATION HAS HELD ITS 2026 PERFORMANCE REVIEW

Komenda College of Education has held its 2026 Performance Review at ED Hotel, University of Cape Coast, to assess the achievements, challenges and overall performance of its various departments and units, while setting priorities for improved institutional performance.

The two-day programme, held from Monday, 24th to Tuesday, 25th August 2026, brought together Management, academic departments and administrative units of the College.

The Council Chairman, Rt. Rev. Richardson Aboagye Andam, was present to grace the occasion.

In an address on the purpose and expectations of the review, the Principal of the College, Very Rev. Prof. Kwesi Nkum Wilson, emphasised the need for departments and units to critically assess their performance, reflect on their achievements, identify challenges and develop practical strategies for improvement. He also highlighted the importance of accountability, effective coordination and aligning departmental activities with the strategic objectives of the College.

The various departments and units presented reports covering their mandates, achievements, staff development activities, challenges and the way forward. Academic departments and units presented on the first day, while administrative departments and units made their presentations on the second day.

The presentations provided an opportunity for participants to reflect on progress made, identify gaps affecting the implementation of activities and propose practical measures to address challenges and improve service delivery.

The review concluded with discussions on the general performance of the College, resolutions, decisions and an action plan to guide the implementation of agreed priorities.

The programme was chaired by Prof. Samuel Kweku Hayford of the University of Education, Winneba, with Ms. Constance Afriyie, Ag. College Registrar, and Mr. Godwin Anani, Public Relations Officer, serving as moderators.

The 2026 Performance Review is expected to provide direction for strengthening institutional systems, building staff capacity and improving outcomes in teaching, learning, administration and overall institutional development.
