Komenda College of Education has successfully held its Freshers’ Orientation Programme for the 2026/2027 Academic Year from Monday, 19th October, to Wednesday, 21st October, 2026.
The three-day programme was organised to familiarise newly admitted students with the College’s academic system, institutional rules, student support services, and campus life, equipping them with the knowledge needed for a successful academic journey.
The programme featured presentations by key College officials on various topics relevant to students’ academic development and personal welfare.
The Principal, Very Rev. Prof. Kwesi Nkum Wilson, opened the programme with a presentation on Effective Time Management, emphasising the importance of proper planning, discipline, and effective use of time in achieving academic success.
Mr. Solomon Dartey, the Quality Assurance Coordinator, spoke on Quality Assurance: The Role of the Student, highlighting students’ responsibilities in maintaining and improving academic standards within the College.
The Vice Principal, Dr. Theophilus Bassaw, also delivered a presentation on the Academic Structure of the College, providing freshers with an understanding of the institution’s academic organisation and the framework guiding their studies.
The second day of the programme also featured a session on Navigation of ICT Infrastructure, which introduced freshers to the College’s digital systems and ICT resources. The session helped students understand how to navigate the available digital platforms and infrastructure to support their academic activities and access essential institutional services.
Other sessions addressed important areas, including academic assessment, student discipline, recreational activities, counselling services, library usage, inclusive education, campus safety, and fire prevention.
On the third and final day, Wednesday, 21st October, the freshers embarked on a campus tour to familiarise themselves with key facilities and locations within the College. The tour provided an opportunity for students to explore their new academic environment and learn about the facilities available to support their studies and welfare.
The orientation served as an important platform for newly admitted students to interact with College officials, understand institutional expectations, and learn about the services, facilities, and opportunities available to them.
The programme marked a significant step in welcoming the 2026/2027 freshers into the Komenda College of Education community, setting the foundation for a rewarding and successful academic experience.
